Saturn Lowest density of any planet -- 0.69. Saturn overall is lighter than water. Most known moons; current count is 18. Recent Hubble discoveries may bring that total up as much as four more, but more likely two or none at all. Jupiter has 16 moons, Uranus has 15, Neptune has 8, Mars has 2, and Earth and Pluto have 1. Highest oblateness -- 0.1076. That means it has the flattest globe. It almost looks egg-shaped. Saturn has the best system of rings and is the only planet with rings visible from a telescope. Enceladus has the highest albedo of any moon and perhaps any body in the solar system -- 0.99. It is virtually a mirror of ice. Titan is the moon with the thickest atmosphere -- 1.2 atmospheres. It is actually thicker than our atmosphere. A probe from the Cassini probe will be sent past the perpetual cloud cover of Titan to the surface. Titan is thought to be a world similar to Earth's beginnings, except much colder. Forward to Uranus |
